Free Collision Repair Advice
Being involved in an auto accident can be a traumatic experience and something many have never had to deal with. Below you'll find some of our advice for dealing with your accident claim and I hope it that helps you get through this inconvenience.
Q : Should I file a claim or not?
A : Be aware that your insurance company has the right to recover its loss by raising your rates. If you are the insured you may want to consider the long term effects of submitting a claim vs. paying out of pocket. This is especially true if you have a high deductible.
Q : Do I need to get three estimates?
A : No, the choice of repair shop is yours. If you want to shop around to see who has the best service or facility that's great, but you'll find most good repair shops estimates will be very close in price due to the automated estimating systems used.
Q : The insurance company says they won't warranty the repair if I don't use a network shop. Is this true?
A : No, the shop has the responsibility to warranty the work not the insurance company. Most good repair shops will warranty the work for the Lifetime of Your Ownership.
Q : How do I know if my car is damaged beyond repair or is a total loss?
A : Most Insurance companies will invest up to 70% of a cars value in repairs. You can use www.NADA.com to determine the value of your car and use the estimate to repair to help determine if it is financially viable to repair.
Q : My insurance company says they only work with certain repair shops and that if I don't it will delay the repair, is this true?
A : Any collision repair shop can do work with any insurance company. Body Shops have relationships with insurance companies to help build volume through referrals, but it's the vehicle owners right to choose the business that will repair their car.
